ADVANCEMENT
You can improve your character's abilities in the Advancement Room, located
straight off of the 'Out of Character Area,' spending hard-earned 'character
points' to improve your skills, attributes, and languages. Additionally, for
20 character points you can become Force-Sensitive, but this is not coded and
must be requested from a Judge or Wizard, who will only allow sensitivity if
it makes sense for your character.
Improving a skill costs the number of points before the 'D' in your current
skill. (Improving from 5D+2 to 6D, for instance, costs 5 points.)
Improving an attribute costs ten times the number of points before the 'D' in
the current attribute. (Improving from 3D+1 to 3D+2, for instance, costs 30 points.)
Furthermore, you have an increasing risk of failure as you approach or exceed
your racial maximum (4D for humans). If you 'fail,' the points are all wasted,
though you're free to try again as many times as you can afford.
Improving your movement, in either swimming speed or running speed, costs
a number of points equal to your current Move rating. (Going from Move 10, a
normal human's move, to 11, costs 10 points.)
This information is also available in-game via the "news advancement" command.
